Video: Josh Hutcherson accidentally confirms Jena Malone for Catching Fire in new interview

Posted on by

It looks like Josh Hutcherson just accidentally confirmed a Catching Fire casting in an interview from last night’s Teen Choice Awards. Though it was reported that Jena Malone has been offered the role of Johanna Mason, it has not yet been officially announced by Lionsgate. In an interview for Access Hollywood, though, Hutcherson mentioned Malone as one of the new cast members. When asked about the casting for the next Hunger Games movie, the actor said:

“I’m super excited. I think Jena Malone is fantastic. Amanda Plummer is fantastic. I think also Philip Seymour Hoffman is one of my favorite actors ever.”

While this could vey much be Josh talking about the rumors we’ve heard, one would think he, as an insider, is more up to date with the casting news than we are at the moment ;).

We expect another casting announcement from Lionsgate really soon, so keep checking HungerTimes back!
