Yesterday, Variety confirmed in an article the rumor of Sam Claflin being Lionsgate‘s first choice for Finnick Odair, and they also revealed the names of Melissa Leo and Tony Shalhoub as frontrunners for the roles of Mags and Beetee.

Well, last night Jeff Sneider, a Variety reporter, tweeted an update to the report and stated that Melissa Leo is no longer in the running for Mags, as was confirmed by her reps.

HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE casting update: MELISSA LEO’s reps have been informed this afternoon that she is NOT getting the part of Mags.

Sneider also confirmed that they are still expecting for Sam Claflin to get the Finnick offer and Tony Shalhoub is still in the Beetee shortlist. We’ll just have to wait for official confirmation.
