The announcement has been made. As promised, TheUKwillBeWatching.co.uk revealed the first details of the Home Video release of The Hunger Games in the United Kingdom. Here’s the Capitol’s message to Citizens of Panem from the British Isles District:

Citizens of Panem.

It is hereby decreed that the 74th Hunger Games will be available to citizens of the British Isles District on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital formats on the 3rd of September 2012.

As reward for recent good citizenship United Kingdom citizens of Panem will be allowed to see a version previously unavailable in this District.

Purchase of The Hunger Games is your duty as a citizen of Panem. The Hunger Games will be available on the 3rd of September. Make your District proud. Pre-order your copy from the 15th of June.

Regulars visit to this website are mandatory to ensure you’re fully informed of all updates pertaining to The Hunger Games on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital formats.

The Hunger Games will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy on September 3rd for fans in the UK. The special features included will be the same announced for the American version:

Game Maker: Suzanne Collins and the Hunger Games Phenomenon
The World is Watching: Making the Hunger Games
Letters from the Rose Garden
Controlling the Games
A Conversation with Gary Ross and Elvis Mitchell
Preparing for the Games: A Director’s Process (Blu-ray exclusive!)
Propaganda Film
Marketing Archive

The film will be released in two different versions: the movie as seen in theaters and a different 15-rated version. Remember we reported back in March that for its UK release, the filmmakers eliminated seven ‘bloody’ seconds in order to get a 12A rating for the theatrical release. So the 15-rated version is basically the movie as was seen in the United States and the rest of the world.

The movie is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Blu-ray Un-Seen version is available for £15.00, while the DVD 12A version is up for £10.00.
