The Hunger Games DVD/Blu-ray to be released on August 18 in the United States

Even though the movie got released just 3 weeks ago, we are already wondering when are we going to be able to own the movie to watch it over and over again. Well, we may just have the answer. Blu-ray.com has updated the profile of The Hunger Games Blu-ray to add a release date in the United States: August 18, 2012. The date is almost 5 months away from the movie’s theatrical release, even though the standard time period between a theatrical and a DVD release is around 4 months. Though the site is reliable, we need to wait for a Lionsgate confirmation before calling it official.
Adding to the veracity of the information is an article posted yesterday by Forbes where they assured Mattel‘s Katniss Everdeen Barbie doll will hit store-shelves “in August timed to the DVD release of The Hunger Games“.
Blu-ray.com also lists the German edition of the Blu-ray for a August 23 release date, and the French edition for July 21, both dates confirmed by the Amazon stores of each country where both the DVD and Blu-ray version can already be pre-ordered.
» Pre-order the French DVD (€19.99) or Blu-ray (€24.98)
» Pre-order the German DVD (€14.95) or Blu-ray (€16.95)
The covert art listed on Amazon may not be the final one.
