The Hunger Games DVD/BD tops both Sales and Rentals lists in the U.S.

Rentrak Corporation and Retail Essentials, companies in charge of both sales and rentals DVD/BD tracking in the United States, announced today the list of most sold and rented titles for last week (ending August 18), and The Hunger Games is on the top of both.

Lockout
American Reunion
Silent House

DVD/BD Sales
The Hunger Games
Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
Dexter: The Sixth Season
Glee: The Complete Third Season
Jaws

You should notice that The Hunger Games topped the list even when only ONE day of sales/rentals was accounted for the movie, since it came out on the very same day the week ended.

Earlier this week, Lionsgate announced the movie sold 3.8 million copies in its first weekend.
