Stylist Sophia Banks-Coloma discusses how the Hunger Games cast will dress up for the World Premiere
Celebrity Stylist Sophia Banks-Coloma will be in charge of what the Hunger Games stars Amandla Stenberg, Jacqueline Emerson, Willow Shields and Dayo Okeniyi will wear next monday March 12 at the The Hunger Games Los Angeles World Premiere, and she talks about it with Celebuzz!
The Hunger Games premiere is going to be huge. What would you advise J-Law to wear?
I’d put her in a green or pink dress, preferably Louis Vuitton — something very classy and elegant.
You’ll be styling Amandla Stenberg, Jacqueline Emerson, Willow Shields and Dayo Okeniyi for the HG premiere. What can we expect to see them wearing?
I can’t reveal too much yet, but there are a lot of high-end designers interested in them. We’ve done a few fittings and have some favorites, but we’re exploring new looks as well. They all have very different styles. Amandla loves Chanel and has a cool, edgy style, while Jacqueline loves longer dresses and favors Oscar de la Renta and Louis Vuitton.
How are you going to make them stand out on the red carpet?
We’re going to pick the most amazing outfits for them. They won’t be wearing black! I’m looking for color and something that is different but reflects their characters, too… When a star has a big premiere, I usually pull about 50 outfits, even though we usually only try on about 20 of them. It’s more for peace of mind because I need to make sure they’re comfortable and confident before they even hit the carpet.
You styled Amandla and Jacqueline for InStyle’s Oscars Viewing Party. How was that?
Great! They’re so fun. I put Amandla in a Belle Sauvage printed mini and Calvin Klein flats. Jackie wore a beautiful Preen dress, Ista jewelry, Edie Parker clutch and Jerome C. Rousseau heels…. They are the most fabulous gals. It’s nice to have these young, enthusiastic bright-eyed people, who are excited and appreciative of everything. It’s very refreshing.
The premiere is really close now, guys, how exciting is that? 🙂 We’ll have full coverage of the event here at HungerTimes; be sure to Follow us on Twitter so you don’t miss our live tweeting of the event!
