OFFICIAL: Lionsgate will split Mockingjay book in two movies, reveals release dates

It’s been a long time coming but it’s now official. Lionsgate will adapt the Mockingjay book to the big screen in two separate films. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will hit theaters on November 21, 2014. A year after that, The Hunger Games: Mockinghay Part 2, which will mark the finale in the series, will be released on November 20th, 2015.
In the last couple of years several studios have decided to give this treatment to popular book adaptations, including the finales to the Harry Potter and Twilight series, as well as the Lord of the Rings prequel, The Hobbit. What do you think about the decision? Does the book really needs two films to be told in the best possible way? Write your opinion in the comments!
