Josh Hutcherson to receive top honor from the GLAAD Media Awards
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), will be hosting its GLAAD Media Awards this Saturday, April 21, a ceremony to celebrate the most outstanding images of the LGBT community in the media. According to LA Times, Josh Hutcherson will receive the top honor from the association during the night: the Van Guard award, handed to one who increases the visibility and understanding of LGBT folks.
“Emerging as a leader in a new generation of equality advocates, Josh Hutcherson has consistently used his platform to help young people understand that no one should face discrimination simply because of who they are,” said newly christened GLAAD President Herndon Graddick in a statement.
Josh has beeng a great supporter of the Straight But Not Narrow campaign and has continuously showed his sopport to the LGBT community. We’re very proud of him and congratulate him from here!
