Jennifer Lawrence talks life under the spotlight and Hollywood ‘lollipops’ with Vogue UK

Marking the first time ever gracing a Vogue cover, Jennifer Lawrence appears on the cover for the November issue of Vogue UK. Courtesy of Gossip Cop, a brief extract from the interview included inside the magazine has been released. The preview includes great quotes from Jenn talking about the trouble that fame has brought to her life and, most interestingly, she revelas what she was doing the day The Hunger Games debuted in theaters.

I was really upset the day that The Hunger Games came out. I was shaking all day wrapped in a blanket,” explains Lawrence. One friend tried to be helpful (but probably ended making her feel worse) by reminding her of how worse it has been for other artists, “Dude, have you seen what they’ve done to Britney Spears,” referring to the time when tabloids published paparazzi shots and crazy stories about the pop star every day.

Under the spotlight and with a growing fan base that look up to her, the actress admits “there’s a responsibility I’m aware of.” But, she clears, that’s not the hardest part for her, “In one sense, luckily, it comes naturally because I don’t stay out beyond midnight,” she says. “I don’t really have an exciting life.” The hard part, is to try and retain her privacy. “You watch these little freedoms being eroded away, like being able to pump gas in peace or whatever; but it’s here, and it comes and goes and leaves.

Along with her fame, there has come certain pressure to look in a certain way, or like she would put it, to look like a ‘lollopop’. “Oh God, yes, I’m so tired of the lollipops. I mean, if I looked like that I wouldn’t be tired of it, obviously. But it’s hilarious, the way I’m supposedly the overweight one?” She continues, “Like, they got me at the movies yesterday and the caption read something like ‘Curvy star cannot wait to dig into tub of popcorn.’ I mean, C’mon!. I’m just a normal girl who likes to eat,” she says.
