Ever since Jena Malone was announced as the chosen one to play fan-favorite Johanna Mason, we’ve been reading lots of mixed reactions from fans. But was do the actress herself have to say? Malone recently talked to E! Online, where she discussed her level of excitement for this role.

“I’m super excited,” Malone said at the Beverly Hills party for Dannijo & Tucker Tea. “It’s going to be amazing.” She admitted she’s read the whole series after her younger sister recommended it.

“I read the whole series over a weekend when I had a wisdom tooth out,” she said. “I was in bed looking for something to read and my little sister recommended it like a year and a half ago, so she was like, ‘You have to read it! You have to read it!’ And so I’m glad I finally did and I loved it.”

She sounds genuinely excited about all this!
