Could Catching Fire production be relocated from North Carolina to Georgia?

Thanks to Hypable, this piece of news have came to our attention. North Carolina news reporter Russ Bowen, who has previously reported on the Hunger Games filming, tweeted yesterday that there’s a possibility that the Catching Fire production will be moved from North Carolina and could be heading to Atlanta.

According to Bowen, there’s a “strong possibility” that the soundstage and production offices for Catching Fire will relocate to a warehouse east of Atlanta, due to tax purposes. This relocation of the soundstage doesn’t mean some exterior shoots cannot be done in North Carolina, though, specially for scenes involving the Seam and the Hob. No official word has been released by Lionsgate; we’ll keep you posted.

True, except they’re not just relocating for tax purposes. North Carolina just doesn’t have as many cool locations as GA and the area around ATL does.
